Services of one of the world's most popular social messaging services, WhatsApp, were reportedly down around midnight. Users from across countries took to social media to inquire why their new year greetings weren't being delivered. Indian news agency ANI reported an hour after midnight that WhatsApp services had been restored but the complaints on social media persist.
