Waaree Energies Gets NABL Accreditation For Advanced Testing Lab In Chikhli
Waaree Energies Ltd. received authorisation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories for its photovoltaic module test lab in its module manufacturing facility at Chikhli, Gujarat.
This is the solar panel manufacturer's second accreditation on the heels of its first certification for its solar PV module manufacturing facility in Tumb, Gujarat, according to an exchange filing on Thursday.
"With advanced testing capabilities now extended to our Chikhli facility, we can certify even larger volumes of solar modules domestically, reducing reliance on foreign labs and saving valuable resources," Chief Executive Officer Amit Paithankar said.
This achievement reinforces Waaree Energies' commitment to making India self-reliant across the solar supply chain while ensuring its products consistently meet the highest global standards, Paithankar said.
The test lab has the ability to undertake a variety of vital tasks such as:
Handling the design and safety qualifications for PV modules.
Performing accelerated testing to ensure reliability, durability and optimal performance under a multitude of field conditions.
Conducting specialised testing across disciplines, which include biological, chemical, electrical, mechanical, radiological, photometry, information technology systems, electro-technical, thermal, and medical equipment.
The PMTL is capable of conducting over 48 tests, including thermal cycling, damp heat, mechanical load and potential-induced degradation, ensuring that PV modules adhere to rigorous performance, safety and durability standards.
"By adhering to internationally accepted testing protocols, Waaree demonstrates its ability to produce modules that withstand diverse environmental conditions while maintaining efficiency and reliability," the company said.
Shares of Waaree Energies jumped as much as 8.33% during the day to Rs 2,949 apiece on the National Stock Exchange. The stock closed 4.31% higher at Rs 2,839.35 per share, compared to a 0.98% advance in the benchmark Nifty. The share price has risen 88.95% in the past 12 months.
