Vodafone's Rs 9 prepaid recharge plan is also known as Vodafone UP East plan
With Vodafone's Rs 9 prepaid recharge plan, customers can make any number of phone calls during the day. Vodafone's Rs 9 prepaid recharge plan also enables the subscribers to send over 100 SMSes, along with 100 MB mobile data for one day until midnight. This Vodafone plan was launched mainly for the customers staying in Eastern UP. The telecom company plans to invite customers from more than 60,000 towns and villages in the circle to avail the offer. Separately, Vodafone also offers SuperPlans with unlimited data and calling benefits ranging from Rs 21 to Rs 458.
Nipun Sharma, business head, UP East, Vodafone India said, "74 percent of Vodafone customers reside in rural parts of the state and a large number of families dwelling in these towns and villages of UP East have loved ones living in other states of India. They tend to use mobile phones primarily for calling, SMS and may log on to the internet for basic requirements. As the network of choice we want our customers to get the value for money at a price point that fits their budget."

Besides this, Ramdev's Patanjali announced the launch of a SIM card Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM, in partnership with state-run BSNL or Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
