United Breweries Shares Jump 9% Amid Huge Volumes
United Breweries shares surged as much as 9 per cent on Friday amid huge volumes. The stock made a high of Rs 892.5 on the National Stock Exchange, while on the Bombay Stock Exchange, it hit a high of Rs 892.Â
Trading volume in United Breweries jumped by more than 100 times, indicating a block deal, traders said. 21.39Â lakh shares had changed hands in United Breweries as compared to the stock's two-week average volume of 18,000 shares.Â
Shares of United Breweries Holdings, the holding company of United Breweries, were locked in upper circuit with 20 per cent gains.Â
United Breweries is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of beer including licencing of other brands.Â
United Breweries shares closed 1.19 per cent higher at Rs 828.75 compared to 0.43 per cent gains in the broader Nifty.
