Reliance Jio's Prime membership, which kicked off on April 1, 2017, was about to discontinue on March 31, 2018. However, it eventually did not. Until March 30, the Jio customers were looking forward to a positive announcement from the telecom provider, hoping (with fingers crossed) for the extension of Jio Prime services without having to pay anything extra. Finally, the suspense ended when Jio announced this on Saturday evening.

Jio Prime membership offers a host of benefits to its subscribers. Jio Prime membership gives subscribers the opportunity to avail unlimited benefits of free voice (local, STD, roaming to any operator, anywhere in India), 4G data and SMS. It also gives complimentary benefit of Jio's premium content bouquet worth Rs 10,000. However, these offers were about to come to an end on March 31, 2018. Last year, just after the end of Jio's Happy New Year offer on March 31, Jio had released its Summer Surprise offer, in which it waived off the monthly charges for the next three months.
