Shares in Reliance Communications gained on Friday after a newspaper reported that the company was in talks to sell a stake in its mobile tower unit to Reliance Industries.
The deal could involve Reliance Industries' unit Reliance Infotel buying a stake in Reliance Communications' unit Reliance Infratel, the paper reported, citing two people close to the negotiations.
Reliance Communications shares had slumped 9.14 per cent on Thursday after posting a sharper-than-expected fall in its October-December quarter.
It recovered most of its losses on Thursday, ending 7.62 per cent higher at Rs 86.10. Reliance Industries ended 0.37 per cent lower at Rs 912.20.
