Mumbai: Integrated milk and dairy products maker Prabhat Dairy has expended its presence to India's northern states such as Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
"This expansion is aimed at part of our strategy to develop our business to consumers category in the northern market and take the company to new heights. The long shelf life products will be made available in this region," Prabhat Dairy joint managing director Vivek Nirmal said in a release on Thursday.
Maharashtra-based Prabhat Dairy said that the products to be sold in northern states are UHT milk, cheese and ghee.
Currently, the company has its presence in more than 15 states through a well-spread network of distributors and retailers.
The Maharashtra-based company produces fresh, dry, frozen, cultured and fermented dairy products, including pasteurised milk, flavoured milk, sweetened condensed milk, ultra-pasteurised or ultra-high temperature (UHT) milk, yoghurt, dairy whitener, clarified butter (ghee), cheese, paneer, 'shrikhand' (a type of sweet), milk powder, ingredients for baby foods and lassi.
