(Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Capitol Police have captured a fox after warning of several “aggressive fox encounters” on or near the U.S. Capitol grounds, including one lawmaker who was bitten Monday night, according to Punchbowl News.
Rep. Ami Bera told, a California Democrat, told Punchbowl it was “the most bizarre day in Congress.”
Bera says he received a series of rabies shots out of an abundance of caution.
In an alert sent to lawmakers Tuesday, Capitol Police warned that individuals have been attacked or bitten.
“Animal Control Officers are working to trap and relocate any foxes they find,” Capitol Police said.
