Netflix Q1 Report: OTT Giant Bets On India With WWE WrestleMania 41
Netflix is going all out to expand its audience base in India by streaming WWE WrestleMania 41 shows year-round in Hindi and some other regional languages.
The US-based streaming giant became the exclusive platform to stream WWE in India from April 1. With the move, Indian fans can access all of WWE's weekly flagship shows in Hindi. These include Raw, NXT, and SmackDown, along with major premium live events such as SummerSlam.
Netflix's push to strengthen its WWE lineup comes as the show has significantly boosted viewership on the platform. Since its debut, some of the WWE content has consistently featured in Netflix's global top 10 list each week. It has also appeared in the weekly top 10 across 29 countries, even before launching in key markets.
“We're building out our live offering with our Q1 launch of WWE RAW, which has been on our global top 10 list every week,” the company said, while announcing earnings report for Q1 2025, on Thursday.
Earlier, Netflix highlighted that India had a “devoted wrestling fanbase”, which has contributed to becoming WWE's “most engaged international markets.”
In Q1 2025, Netflix outperformed forecasts with a 13% year-on-year revenue surge at $10.5 billion, led by a rise in subscription and advertisement earnings.
When and Where To Watch WrestleMania 41 On Netflix
The 41st annual WrestleMania will be a two-night event on Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. Indian fans will be able to watch the show live on Netflix from 4:30 am on April 20 and April 21.
The show will be available exclusively on Netflix. Viewers can also stream past WrestleMania events on the platform, with matches dating back to 1985. To be clear, the older WrestleMania matches are not available in Indian languages, as seen on the platform.
Meanwhile, the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event is available to watch on Netflix, including in Hindi. With the latest season, Netflix has added 38 seasons of the show. Similarly, 37 seasons of SummerSlam have also been recently added. Older seasons of these shows are available in English only.
