JSW Steel Production Up 13 Per Cent in August
New Delhi: JSW Steel on Friday reported a 13 per cent rise in production at 11.16 lakh tonnes last month.
The Sajjan Jindal-led firm had produced 9.85 lakh tonnes crude steel in August 2013, it said in a statement.
The production of flat products, used in the automotive and consumer durable industries, grew 7 per cent to 8.8 lakh tonnes from 8.24 lakh tonnes a year ago.
Long products, which find application in the construction sector, increased 53 per cent to 1.96 lakh tonnes from 1.28 lakh tonnes in the year-ago period.
The company had reported a 12 per cent rise in crude steel production at 11.13 lakh tonnes last month.
In the first three months of current fiscal year, JSW Steel has produced 31 lakh tonnes of steel, registering an 8 per cent growth over the April-June period of last fiscal year.
