JP Morgan Cuts Ratings on Coal India, NMDC

JP Morgan downgraded Coal India Ltd to "underweight" from "neutral", while cut NMDC Ltd to "neutral" from "overweight".

The investment bank said Coal India's downgrade was driven by its assessment of potential coal production and prices.

On NMDC, JP Morgan said it expected just "broadly stable" domestic iron ore prices, while noting "weak" global iron ore prices as another factor.

Coal India shares were trading at Rs 391.40, up 0.31 per cent; while NMDC was down 0.47 per cent at Rs 189.65 as of 10.23 a.m.
