AstraZeneca Pharma India Ltd.'s profit surged in the first quarter of financial year 2016-17.
The Indian arm of the multinational pharmaceutical company saw its net profit in the April-June period rise to Rs 10.6 crore from Rs 2.7 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, the company said in a filing to the stock exchanges.
Revenue for the quarter-ended June improved 15.1 percent to Rs 138.1 crore against Rs 120 crore year-on-year, the filing added.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation rose to Rs 16 crore from Rs 5.3 crore in the same quarter the previous year. The EBITDA margin expanded 750 basis points to 11.5 percent from 4 percent.
