The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to begin on March 22. Five-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians will kick off their campaign against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Hardik Pandya-led team will look to bounce back strongly this year after finishing at the bottom of the points table in 2024.
The Mumbai Indians have assembled a strong squad of 23 players for the 2025 season. With a strong core of retained players, the franchise bought multiple match winners in the mega auction, including the likes of Trent Boult, Will Jacks and Mitchell Santner.
With reports of star bowler Jasprit Bumrah missing the first two weeks of IPL, it will be interesting to see how Mumbai Indians shape their bowling line up. Bumrah injured his lower back during the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian bowling sensation is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. Bumrah also gave the Champions Trophy a miss due to the injury.
