Nifty 50 Check: Tata Steel Leads Gains

The gains of the Nifty 50 as of 3:20 p.m., were lead by the Tata Steel and Power Grid Counter which was over 3%. The names like Hindalco, L&T and Kotak Mahindra Bank were also in the green.

The names dragging the index is primarily Max Healthcare that saw the deepest losses among the lot. Counters like Coal India and Eicher Motors were also in the red.

Stock Market News Live: Volume Buzzers

Counters that are buzzing it terms of volume today are names like Tata Steel, Power Grid, Bharat Electronics and HDFC Bank.

Tata Steel is trading about 3% higher at Rs 173 as of 3:00 p.m. While Power Grid was also nearly 3% up at Rs 288 apiece on the NSE.

Advance AgrThe shares of Atlantaa Ltd., were locked in upper circuit for the second straight session after the company bagged a Rs 2,485 crore contract from IRCON International Ltd.

According to an exchange filing on 30 Sept. the order is pertaining the construction of Bhandara - Gadchiroli Access Controlled Expressway in the state on EPC mode.olife Ltd.’s initial public offering (IPO), which opened on September 30, is scheduled to close for subscription today.

The Jaipur-based agrochemical products manufacturing company distributes a variety of agrochemicals such as insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and plant growth regulators.

The IPO has been booked 9.17 times as of 12:01 p.m. on Friday, with investors subscribing to 12,38,19,900 shares against the 1,35,09,004 shares on offer.

  • Total business as on Sept 30 rose 11.5% at Rs 1.02 lakh crore.

The Nifyty 50 was led by gains marked by Tata Steel, Hindalco, JSW Steel, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. Tata Steel logged gains of over 4% as of 11:51 a.m.

The index was drgged by Max Health, which declined over 4% and SBI Life that marked over 1% decline.

Avenir Investment RSC, an affiliate of Abu Dhabi-based International Holding Company, has agreed to purchase a 43.46% stake in Sammaan Capital for nearly $1 billion (Rs 8,850 crore), the non-banking financial company said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Thursday.

Stock Market News Live: Tata Motors Share Price

Tata Motors shares have risen over 1% in trade so far to Rs 735.4 apiece on the NSE. The gain compares to 0.24% decline in the Nifty 50.

This comes after the company reported its highest-ever monthly passenger vehicle sales at 60,907 units in September, marking a 47% year-on-year surge. The growth was driven by the rollout of GST 2.0 and festive demand during Navratri.

In September 2024, the automaker had clocked wholesales of 41,313 units. In the domestic market, dispatches to dealers jumped 45% to 59,667 units from 41,063 units in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement.

Stock Market News Live: Defence Stocks In Focus 

India Defence stocks trade in the green after Multinational investment firm, Goldman Sachs initiates coverage on eight players, placing bullish share price targets on all but one.

In the report, analysts Amit Dixit and Kumari Rishika, have said that their picks are beneficiaries of three key themes: increase in the estimated domestic defence market share potential by more than sixfold to Rs 10 lakh crore over the next 20 years.

The index was trading nearly a percent higher, outperforming the Nifty 50 which was down 0.20% as of 9:26 a.m.
