The post-Brexit relief rally is over. European markets posted losses on Monday, even as the U.S. markets remained shut on account of the Independence Day holiday. Asian stocks tracked their European peers and opened lower. The regional benchmark indices are on track to snap their four-day rally.

Safe havens continue to see strong demand. Silver rose for a sixth day, and climbed above $21 per ounce for the first time since 2014. Gold advanced for a fourth day.
The Australian dollar lost 0.2 percent, after climbing 1.2 percent in the past two sessions. The elections in Australia have thrown up an unclear verdict.
Meanwhile, the Japanese yen rose for a second time in three sessions.

Indian markets look set to open lower in-line with their Asian peers. SGX Nifty is trading 0.39 percent lower at 7 am.
