Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday said that Iran threatens the whole region as well as Europe and stated that the aim of the operation against Iran is to end existential threat.

Netanyahu made the remark while speaking at the site of the Iranian missile strike that killed nine people.

Israel and Iran launched coordinated strikes on Tehran and other cities on Saturday, in which Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also killed.

His remarks also put an end to online chatter and speculation after Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed that it launched a “surprise” ballistic missile strike targeting the office of the Israeli Prime Minister.

"This is the third day of Operation Roaring Lion, the operation the Israeli army and the state of Israel set out to, with our great friends, the United States of America and President Trump, to thwart existential threats to Israel and great threats to America and the entire world. When I stand here in a place that was bombarded by the terrorists in Tehran against innocent civilians, you see the difference. The tyrants of Tehran target civilians."

The Israeli Prime Minister stated that the regime change depends on the Iranian people. "A nuclear Iran would 'threaten all of humanity' and Israel is protecting many people," he added.

Speaking about the operation against Iran, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said that the operation is a clear, devastating, decisive mission.

"Regime who chanted 'death to US and Israel' was gifted death from US. Trump offered pathway to peace but Iran was not negotiating and buying time to restart nuclear ambitions, hold us hostage," Hegseth said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke to Netanyahu, to discuss the West Asia situation and conveyed India's concerns.

During his telephonic conversation with Netanyahu, Modi emphasised the safety of civilians as a priority.

"Had a telephone call with PM Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the current regional situation. Conveyed India's concerns over recent developments and emphasised the safety of civilians as a priority. India reiterates the need for an early cessation of hostilities," Modi said in a post on 'X'.

On Sunday, vowing to deliver a 'decisive blow' to Iran, Netanyahu said he had given instructions to his forces to continue to escalate their offensive over Tehran.

"I have given instructions for the continuation of the campaign. Yesterday, we eliminated the tyrant Khamenei. Along with him, we eliminated dozens of senior figures of the oppressive regime. Our forces are now striking at the heart of Tehran with increasing intensity, and this will only continue to escalate further over the coming days," he said.
