Trump-Musk Feud: Tesla Chief Floats Idea Of New Political Party
The post, which quickly went viral, garnered over 500,000 votes with 83% voting 'yes'.

Amid his spat with US President Donald Trump, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has posted a provocative poll on X late Thursday, possibly hinting at forming a new political party.
Musk asked his 220 million followers:
"Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?"
The post, which quickly went viral, garnered over 500,000 votes with 83% voting 'yes'.
This poll comes amid a very public falling-out between Musk and Trump — a political ally Musk has previously backed, particularly during key policy debates around energy and technology. The latest clash centers on Trump’s push on tax legislation that Musk termed as "a disgusting abomination".
The two exchanged barbs on Thursday over a contentious government budget plan which then caused a sharp plunge in Tesla Inc. stock.
"Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore. I was surprised," Trump told reporters at the White House.
“He said the most beautiful things about me, and he hasn’t said bad about me personally, but I’m sure that’ll be next," Trump said.
Musk soon responded through a post on social media platform X saying: "False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!"
