Oil Likely To Stay Elevated For Now, But Could Ease Back To $80: ANZ's Khoon Goh

Oil prices are expected to remain elevated in the near term, though crude could eventually retreat towards the $80-a-barrel mark, according to Khoon Goh, Head of Asia Research at ANZ. Speaking to NDTV Profit, Goh said markets are not overly concerned about crude prices at present, even as Gulf Cooperation Council countries may continue using alternative shipping routes instead of the Strait of Hormuz. He also noted that high bond yields could make debt servicing more challenging, while beneficiaries of the artificial intelligence boom are likely to stay resilient despite signs of only a modest recovery in China's manufacturing activity.
