CMR Green Tech CEO Sees EV, Auto Demand Boosting Aluminium Recycling Growth

Speaking to NDTV Profit, CMR Green Tech CMD Mohan Agarwal said demand remains strong across the auto, construction and packaging sectors, with both conventional vehicles and EVs driving aluminium consumption. He highlighted that EVs require nearly three times more aluminium than traditional vehicles and expects the recycling business to grow faster than the primary metal segment, eventually dominating metal requirements. Agarwal also said the company recently commissioned a beverage can recycling plant, expects 70-80% utilisation at its 30,000-tonne-per-annum billet capacity by FY27, and is targeting a 20-25% ROCE by FY28 after near-term pressure from large capex investments.
