Peter McGuire, CEO of Trading.com Australia, believes US equity markets are currently faring better than their Indian counterparts, warning that domestic equities could witness some near-term softening. Speaking to NDTV Profit, he said elevated bond yields may eventually prompt intervention by central banks, while persistent shipping disruptions and inflationary pressures continue to cloud the global economic outlook. McGuire also noted that uncertainty surrounding US-Iran relations remains a key factor influencing Brent crude prices, adding that there are no concrete negotiations underway between Washington and Tehran at present.
