Samsung has quietly placed the biggest spotlight on one model in the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup. According to latest production figures shared by tech tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is slated to be the star of the series, with three-quarters of the total initial production dedicated to the model. This also indicates that if users are looking to choose from the S26 lineup, Samsung has effectively signalled that the real choice is the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Steals Production Spotlight

As per Ice Universe's post on X, the initial production allocations are expected to be:

Galaxy S26 Ultra: Approximately 3.6 million units.

Galaxy S26 (base model): Roughly 700,000 units.

Galaxy S26 Plus: Around 600,000 units.

That means the Ultra will account for roughly three-fourth of the total initial production for the entire series (about 4.9 million units combined).

Samsung is essentially expecting to lure the majority of buyers towards the premium Ultra model, while the base and Plus versions serve more as fillers. When the S26 series launches in February, the Ultra models are likely to be widely stocked and readily available, while it could be the opposite for the S26 and S26 Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Expected Spec And Feature Upgrades

This year's expectations mirror past trends. The Ultra has consistently captured the major share of sales thanks to advanced features like camera systems, S Pen support, better display, premium materials, and cutting-edge AI capabilities.

This year as well, the Ultra is expected to get major upgrades. Samsung has already confirmed a privacy display feature, which is likely to show up in the S26 Ultra. Other anticipated upgrades include an advanced Exynos 2600 chipset based on a 2nm process for improved device performance and efficiency, a larger 4mm punch-hole for the front camera (increasing the field of view) and improved image processing, M14 OLED material for the display, a slight increase in battery capacity, and an aluminium finish.
