Imagine using light to connect to the internet. Crazy right? But that's what Li-Fi is all about.

Li-fi networks use light waves from LED lights to stream data and connect people to the internet.

Developed by Harold Hass, a professor of mobile communications at the University of Edinburgh, Li-Fi aims to replace congested radio frequency-based networks.

Using light to transmit data is not just more secure. Li-Fi networks have been demonstrated to be faster and more energy efficient than existing networks.

As traditional wireless networks struggle to accommodate IoT devices, Professor Hass believes the future of internet lies not in the cellular tower, but in the light bulb.
