- Anthropic launched new Claude AI plugins for HR, finance, and other departments
- Businesses can create custom plugins linking Claude with tools like Gmail, Drive
- Claude Cowork lets AI create files, aiding tasks like financial analysis and operations
Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has unveiled several new enterprise capabilities for its Claude AI, including plugins that are designed for specific departments within a company, such as human resources and finance. The upgrades follow Anthropic's launch of plugins for Claude less than a month ago, which sent software stocks into a tailspin.
The updated capabilities also allow businesses to create customised plugins tailored to specific organisational tasks, Yahoo Finance reported. They can connect Claude to existing software tools, such as Google's Drive and Gmail, DocuSign and LegalZoom.
New Plugins Available On Claude
The addition of new pre-built plugins in Claude Cowork, a feature currently available on the AI model's desktop app, allows Claude to create and manipulate files on a computer. Anthropic has collaborated with some of the world's largest enterprises to develop the plugins, Inc.com reported. This has made Claude an AI agent that offers all the tools and guidance required to carry out specific jobs within a company.
The new capabilities offered by Claude's plugins include:
- Financial analysis: An agent can undertake financial modelling tasks and understand how to conduct market/competitor research.
- Investment banking: Pitch materials, review transaction documents and analyse comparable companies can be prepared by the agent.
- Equity research: The plugin will be able to draft research notes, update financial models and parse earnings transcripts.
- Operations: The agent is designed to handle the different challenges that operations teams face, such as generating standard order of practice documents, project updates and vendor proposal summaries.
- Human resources: Customised job descriptions, offer letters, performance summaries and onboarding materials can be generated using the new plugins.
- Private equity: The agent can model scenarios, review and extract financial data from large document sets and analyse opportunities against investment criteria.
- Wealth management: It can analyse an investment portfolio and generate asset rebalancing recommendations that are customised to mirror a firm's voice.
- Design: The AI agent will be able to work alongside Figma to make creative briefs and design decision documentation.
- Engineering: Decision write-up and technical documentation can be generated and go directly to the places where they must be posted, such as repositories, ticketing systems, and wikis.
- Brand voice (by Tribe AI): An agent trains Claude to generate outputs that stick to a firm's specific voice and editorial standards.

Potential Impact Of These Plugins
Anthropic's progress in the enterprise space is expected to amplify fears on Wall Street that the company's products may displace existing software companies in the long run. According to a report by Yahoo Finance, stocks of several software companies have witnessed sharp falls over the past few weeks, with Salesforce declining 22%, Intuit 33% and Snowflake 20% since Claude Cowork was first announced.
Apart from Anthropic, OpenAI launched its Frontier platform earlier this month, which helps users build and launch AI agents that work with an organisation's existing software services.
The plugins offered by Anthropic are currently available only for customers of Anthropic's workplace-focused plan - Claude Enterprise.
