Nichollas Pooran sprung back to form as he hit a fiery half-century during Lucknow Super Giant's (LSG) 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) game against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday, May 4.
The West Indian big-hitter took just 16 balls to reach his half-century as LSG were off to a fast start against the five-time champions. It is the second quickest fifty by a LSG player in the history of the IPL. Incidentally, it is Pooran's 100th match in the IPL.

Pooran hit eight sixes and a four as his amassed 63 runs off just 21 balls before MI pacer Cobin Bosch got him out caught behind by wicketkeeper Ryan Rickelton.
The 30-year-old has come under heavy criticism for his poor run in this year's IPL. Before hitting the fifty, the left-handed batter had been dismissed for scores of 8, 1, 13, 19, 1, 9, 22, 9.
Pooran has been playing in the IPL since 2019 and has previously represented Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
