Southwest Monsoon Set To Advance Over Haryana, Delhi In Next Two Days: IMD

As of June 20, 2025, the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, as well as some parts of West Uttar Pradesh.

The India Meteorological Department has forecasted that conditions are becoming favourable for the advance of the Southwest Monsoon over Haryana and Delhi within the next two days. This development marks a progression in the monsoon season, which is crucial for agriculture and water resources in the region.

As of June 20, 2025, the Southwest monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, as well as some parts of West Uttar Pradesh, most parts of Uttarakhand, many parts of Himachal Pradesh, and some parts of Ladakh.

The IMD reports that conditions are favourable for the monsoon to continue its advance over the remaining parts of the North Arabian Sea, additional areas of Rajasthan, the remaining parts of West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Ladakh over the next two days.

In the southern region, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning is forecasted for Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and Telangana. Additionally, strong surface winds are expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Conversely, hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail in isolated areas of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Over the next seven days, the Northeast region will also experience wet weather, offering relief from the heat and aiding crop growth.
