(Bloomberg) -- U.K. stocks were little changed, after a four-day rally took the benchmark FTSE 100 Index closer to a bull market.
Fresnillo Plc jumped 7.8 percent, leading miner gains, after silver rose above $21 for the first time in two years. Randgold Resources Ltd. added 3.8 percent as demand for precious metals as a haven after Brexit also boosted gold prices. Clarkson Plc plunged 22 percent after the shipping services provider saying 2016 profit will be lower than in the previous year.
The FTSE 100 added 0.1 percent at 8:45 a.m. in London, after earlier rising as much as 0.5 percent. The benchmark has climbed for 10 of the past 12 sessions, interrupted only by a two-day slide in the immediate aftermath of the U.K.'s shock vote to leave the European Union. With a weaker pound boosting exporters and commodity producers rallying, the gauge has rebounded 19 percent from its February low.
The volume of FTSE 100 shares changing hands was 20 percent lower than the 30-day average. U.S. markets are closed for the Independence Day holiday. The broader FTSE All-Share Index and Ireland's ISEQ Index were also little changed today.
