Indian equity benchmarks declined for a second day led by banks and automakers.

The S&P BSE Sensex lost 0.4 percent to 32,339 while the NSE Nifty 50 slipped 0.4 percent as well to 10,042. The market breadth was firmly tilted in the favour of the sellers. About 907 stocks declined, while 610 stocks advanced on the National Stock Exchange.

Oil Marketers: In Focus

The S&P BSE Oil & Gas Index extended gains for a fifth straight session as it rose 1.4 percent, the most in a month to 14,450.

The gains were led by oil-marketing companies after the government was said to consider ending subsidy on kerosene, according to an Economic Times report quoting sources it did not identify.

V.S.T. Tilers Tractors: Mixed July Sales

Shares of the tractor manufacturer reversed their early gains and traded 2.1 percent lower. The company managed to sell around 2,405 power tillers in July, a decline of 21 percent from a year-ago period.

The company sold 760 tractors in July— a rise of 11.1 percent compared to same period last year, according to its exchange filing.

The stock is down third time this week. It has risen 30 percent so far this year, compared to the 21.7 percent gain in the Sensex.

GAIL: Commences Project In Kerala

Shares of state-run gas company snapped three-day decline as it rose as much as 1.2 percent. The company commenced construction work in Kerala stretch of Rs 3,262-crore Kochi-Koottanad-Mangaluru-Bengaluru Pipeline (KKMBPL) project.

GAIL aims to complete the entire project by December 2018, the company said in a media statement on an exchange filing.

GAIL India trades at 18.6 times trailing 12-month earnings per share, Bloomberg data showed. It has risen 13.4 percent so far this year, compared to 18 percent gain in the S&P BSE Oil & Gas Index.

Bajaj Finance: Stake Purchase

Shares of the non-banking financial company gained 0.4 percent to Rs 1,714 after it announced a plan to acquire a stake in payment services provider Mobikwik for Rs 225 crore.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) was 79, indicating that the stock may be overbought. The stock has returned 103 percent so far this year, and a gain of 71 percent in the past 52-weeks.

Reliance Infrastructure (YoY)

  • Stock rose as much as 2.2 percent to Rs 544
  • Net profit down 24 percent to Rs 334 crore
  • Revenue up 8 percent to Rs 7,559 crore
  • EBITDA up 35.5 percent to Rs 2,014 crore
  • EBITDA margin expanded to 26.6 percent from 21.2 percent

Sical Logistics (YoY)

  • Shares extended gains or the fourth-day and rose as much as 5.32 percent, the most in a month to Rs 275
  • Profit up 69 percent to Rs 11 crore
  • Revenue up 14.5 percent to Rs 245 crore
  • EBITDA up 43 percent to Rs 45 crore
  • EBITDA margin expanded to 18.4 percent from 14.7 percent

Transport Corporation of India (YoY)

  • Stock rose as much as 4.6 percent to Rs 318
  • Revenue up 16 percent to Rs 497 crore
  • EBITDA up 23 percent to Rs 46 crore
  • EBITDA margin expanded to 9.3 percent from 8.8 percent
  • Net profit up 20 percent at Rs 18 crore

Tribhovandas Bhiimji Zaveri (YoY)

  • Stock rose as much as 3.9 percent to Rs 115.20
  • Net profit up 164 percent to Rs 5.8 crore
  • Revenue up 38 percent to Rs 448 crore
  • EBITDA up 8.6 percent to Rs 19 crore
  • EBITDA margin narrowed to 4.3 percent from 5.4 percent

VST Industries (Q1, YoY)

  • Stock rose as much as 2.4 percent to Rs 3,054
  • Net profit down 9 percent to Rs 39.8 crore
  • Revenue down 4 percent to Rs 562 crore
  • EBITDA down 2 percent to Rs 65 crore
  • EBITDA margin expanded to 31.3 percent from 26.8 percent

Narayana Hrudayalaya (YoY)

  • Stock fell as much as 3.9 percent to Rs 297.25
