Indian equity benchmarks declined for the second straight trading session. The S&P BSE Sensex index fell as much as 0.1 percent to 33,531.94, while the NSE Nifty 50 Index fell as much as 0.2 percent to Rs 10,403.
The market breadth was however tilted in favour of buyers. All the sector gauges were trading higher led by the S&P BSE Telecom Index's 2.4 percent gain.

Shares of the country's largest telecom operator rose as much as 4 percent to Rs 565.
About 18.47 crore shares or 4.6 percent equity stake changed hands in a block deal, according to Bloomberg data. Buyers and sellers were immediately not known.
The stock was the best performer on both the Sensex and the Nifty. Trading volume was 9,115.5 times its 20-day average. The relative strength index was 79, indicating that the stock may be overbought.
Bharat Forge: Truck Sales Boost
Shares of the automobile manufacturer rose as much as 3.9 percent to Rs 722 after North America Class 8 truck sales jumped 161 percent to 35,700 units in October 2017 over October 2016.
Trading volume was 6.3 times its 30-day average. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) was 74, indicating that the stock may be overbought.
Dr. Reddy's Lab: New Launch In Canadian Market
Shares of the pharmaceutical company rose as much as 1.6 percent to Rs 2,449.80.
The drug maker launched Azacitidine injection in the Canadian market, according to its stock exchange notification. The drug is used for the treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome.
The stock was the best performer on the Nifty Pharma Index. It has returned a negative 20 percent so far this year and a loss of 25 percent in the past 12 months.
VST Tillers Tractors: October Sales Rise
Shares of the tractor manufacturer rose as much as 3.8 percent to Rs 2,348.
The company sold 2,577 tractors in October, an increase of 14.4 percent year-on-year, according to its stock exchange filing.
VST Tillers Tractors trades at 29.1 times trailing 12-month earnings per share. The stock has returned 34 percent so far this year and a gain of 20 percent in the past 12 months.
