Stock Market Highlights: Nifty, Sensex Off Day's Low But End Down; HDFC Bank Drags
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 88 points or 0.35% lower at 25,453.40, while the BSE Sensex closed 287.60 points or 0.34% up at 83,409.69.

Indian benchmark equity indices closed lower on Wednesday, dragged by share prices of HDFC Bank Ltd. and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 88 points or 0.35% lower at 25,453.40, while the BSE Sensex closed 287.60 points or 0.34% down at 83,409.69. During the day, Nifty fell 0.64% to trade at 25,378.75 and Sensex fell 0.65% to 83,150.77.







Shares of Tata Steel Ltd., JSW Steel Ltd. and Asian Paints Ltd. were the top gainers in the Nifty.
While those of Shriram Finance Ltd., HDFC Life Insurance Co., IndusInd Bank Ltd., and Bajaj Finserv Ltd. were among the biggest laggards.

In terms of points contribution, Tata Steel Ltd. and Bharti Airtel Ltd. were among stocks that led the gains in the Nifty.
HDFC Bank Ltd. and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. dragged the index the most.

On NSE, 10 out of 15 sectors ended in red, with Nifty Realty, Finance and Bank declining the most.

The broader market indices settled lower as the BSE MidCap and SmallCap both declined 0.19% and 0.21%, respectively.
The market breadth was skewed in the favour of sellers, as 1,753 stocks advanced, 2,245 declined and 167 remained unchanged on the BSE
