Foreign Holdings of Emerging-Market Bonds Climb to Record: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- Foreign bond holdings in emerging markets have reached a record $785 billion, with India taking the biggest share of the $93 billion of inflows so far this year, according to Deutsche Bank AG. Next come the Czech Republic and Egypt, where the overseas share of bond holdings surged to 27 percent from just one percent at the end of last year. Foreigners hold 28 percent of the bonds in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the biggest proportion in emerging markets, according to the Deutsche Bank analysts.
