Farm equipment manufacturer Escorts Ltd.'s September sales rose 34 percent year-on-year, driven by strong demand.

The tractor maker sold 10,353 units in the country, clocking a growth of 32 percent, while exports surged 242 percent to 209 units, the Faridabad-based company said in an exchange filing.

Shares of Escorts closed 0.2 percent lower on the BSE compared to a 0.7 percent rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. The stock has surged 122 percent so far this year compared to 18.5 jump in the benchmark index.
