Eicher Motors Ltd.'s sales rose in July even as the maker of Royal Enfield continues to see a fall in demand for its motorcycles with an engine capacity above 350 cc.
Overall sales in July rose 21 percent to 64,459 units over the same month last year. The company sold 60,553 units of motorcycles up to 350 cc, a jump of 27 percent over the year-ago month. Sales of models above 350 cc fell 32 percent to 3,906 units year-on-year.
Exports grew 4 percent to 1,302 units over the corresponding month last year.
Shares of Eicher Motors traded 2.26 percent higher to Rs 30,761.65, after the announcement.
