Bajaj Holdings Offloads Bajaj Finserv Stake Worth Rs 2,000 Crore In Block Deal

The company sold 1.04 crore equity shares to public shareholders in the block deal. This makes up 0.65% of paid up capital of Bajaj Finserv.

Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd. on Friday sold shares of Bajaj Finserv Ltd. worth Rs 2,002.21 crore, through a block deal, according to an exchange filing.

The company sold 1.04 crore equity shares to public shareholders. This makes up 0.65% of paid up capital of Bajaj Finserv.

The amount will be received by the buyers on June 9, 2025 on a T+1 basis.

Bajaj Finserv will still be an associate of Bajaj Holdings after this block deal.

Bajaj Finserv's promoters already offloaded 2.85 crore shares of the company earlier in the day in a pre-market transaction block deal.

The promoter entities were reportedly planning to sell shares worth Rs 5,800 crore through open market transactions on Friday.

Bajaj Holdings and Investments Ltd. and Jamnalal Sons Pvt. were offering as much as 3.1 crore shares or up to 1.94% stake via block deals.

The floor price was set at Rs 1,880 per share, which is at a 3.3% discount to the stock's last close, according to the term sheet, Bloomberg reported.

The base offer was for 2.53 crore shares with an option to upsize by 57 lakh shares.

Bajaj Holdings owned about 39% equity of Bajaj Finserv as of March, while Jamnalal Sons had a 9.7% stake, according to BSE data.

Shares of Bajaj Finserv closed 2.37% higher at Rs 1,990 apiece on the NSE, compared to a 30.37% rise in the benchmark Nifty. The stock has fallen 1.66% in the last 12 months and 26.91% on a year-to-date basis.

Out of 13 analysts tracking the company, seven have a 'buy' rating on the stock, four recommend 'hold' and two suggest a 'sell', according to Bloomberg data.
