Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. announced on Wednesday that the company will hike prices with effect from April 8, 2025, due to rising input costs, operational expenses, regulatory changes and feature additions.

This is the company's fourth price hike in 2025, amid moderating sales in the world's third largest car market. The announcement comes ahead of the impending tariffs on all automobile imports in the United States. The country has announced a blanker levy of 25% on imports of cars, trucks and auto components.

The fresh price hike announced by Maruti Suzuki will raise the prices of Grand Vitara by up to Rs 62,000, according to an exchange filing.

"The company to raise prices of Eeco up to Rs 22,500; Wagon-R up to Rs 14,000; Ertiga up to Rs 12,500; xL6 Up to Rs 12,500; Dzire Tour S up to Rs 3,000 and Fronx up to Rs 2,500," it added.

The company had previously raised car prices on Jan. 1, Feb. 1 and March 17.

Automotive manufacturers are facing higher input costs as raw material, logistics, and production expenses continue to rise. The increase in raw material prices is driven by global supply chain disruptions and growing demand, according to global ratings agency S&P Global.

The possibility of new tariffs under US President Donald Trump's administration has added uncertainty, which could further increase cost pressures in the industry.

Last month, various carmakers including Kia India Pvt., Tata Motors and Hyundai Motor India Ltd. had announced a price hike.
