The National Testing Agency cancelled the UGC-NET June 2024 examination on Tuesday due to indications of a compromised integrity.

The Ministry of Education announced the cancellation based on inputs from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre under the Ministry of Home Affairs. On Wednesday, the University Grants Commission received information from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of I4C, suggesting potential compromises in the examination process.

The Ministry of Education said that to maintain transparency and the sanctity of the examination process, the UGC-NET June 2024 examination has been cancelled.

A new date for the examination will be announced separately and the matter has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation for a thorough investigation, the minister said in a statement.

In a related issue, the NEET (UG) 2024 examination's grace marks matter has been fully addressed. Concerning alleged irregularities in Patna, a detailed report has been requested from the Economic Offences Unit, Bihar Police. Further action will be taken upon receipt of this report.

The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring the sanctity of examinations and protecting students' interests, warning that any individual or organisation involved in these matters will face strict action.
