Abhijeet Dipke, founder and convenor of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has written an open letter to the Education Ministers of all states, flagging what he described as critical gaps in government school infrastructure and seeking greater transparency in the public education system.

Writing on behalf of the organisation, which describes itself as the “Voice of the Lazy & Unemployed”, Dipke said access to basic education should be treated as a fundamental right and not a political issue. He called for the rehabilitation of government schools to be made an urgent priority.

The CJP has sought state-wise data on the number of government schools renovated over the past five years and the number currently requiring immediate repairs or a complete overhaul.

The letter also seeks details of sanctioned teaching posts, filled positions and vacancies across government schools. On financial accountability, Dipke has asked governments to disclose funds allocated to schools over the past five years and the amount actually spent.

The party has also sought information on the number of additional government schools required to ensure wider access to education, along with details of non-teaching duties assigned to government school teachers.

Another key demand relates to basic facilities. The CJP has asked for data on schools with functional toilets, clean drinking water, digital and computer learning facilities, and adequate sports equipment.
