Rains Live Update: Monsoon Advancing In Northeast India
IMD says it expects the monsoon to advance in MP, UP, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan in the next two to three days. Conditions favour monsoon advancing in Himachal Pradesh in the next two to three days.
Conditions favour monsoon advance into Punjab, Haryana next week. IMD also sees very heavy rains continuing over northeast India in the next seven days. The department also sees extremely heavy rain over Jharkhand till Friday, according to Informist.
Mumbai Rains LIVE: IMD Issues Orange Alert For Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Pune, Satara
In the past 24 hours, Mumbai received 142.6 mm of rainfall, followed by Raigad district (134.1 mm), Palghar (120.9 mm), Thane (90.3 mm), and Mumbai suburban areas (60.5 mm).
The Amba and Kundalika rivers in Raigad district have crossed the danger mark, and the Patalganga river is above the warning mark.
As a precautionary measure, all schools and colleges in Raigad district have declared holiday today.
In Ratnagiri district, the Jagbudi river has crossed the warning mark.
In Sindhudurg district, the road built over the Hateri river in Narur village, Kudal, has been washed away, and citizens are using a nearby iron bridge for transportation.
Due to heavy rainfall, landslides have occurred in Sangameshwar, and citizens have been shifted to safe locations.
