Prime Minister Narendra Modi will expand his council of ministers at 11 am today, ahead of the crucial assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and the monsoon session of the Parliament.

New faces from the Dalit community, and a few members of the upper house of Parliament - Rajya Sabha, are likely to be inducted into the cabinet, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI).

Modi reshuffled his cabinet last on November 2014, when 21 ministers including Defence Minister Manohar Parikkar and Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu were inducted into the cabinet.
