Blankfein `Disappointed' in Cohn Exit as Goldman Shares Decline

(Bloomberg) -- Lloyd Blankfein said he's disappointed to see his former deputy Gary Cohn leave the White House.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s chief executive officer said on Twitter that Cohn “deserves credit for serving his country in a first class way.” Cohn is resigning as President Donald Trump's top economic adviser, leaving his post as the administration prepares to impose steep tariffs on steel and aluminum that Cohn has opposed.

Goldman Sachs fell 1.7 percent in late trading, as shares of major U.S. banks dropped after Cohn's departure was announced.
