Cab aggregator Uber on Monday said India is the fastest-growing business across the globe for the company and it will continue to invest here. The company started its business three years ago in Bengaluru and is now operating in over 20 cities, Uber Asia (Head of Business) Eric Alexander said.

India is now our fastest-growing business across the globe. It's a huge driver for us and we are investing very heavily. Uber has invested over a billion dollars into India and we continue to do so. Currently, in addition to over 500 Uber employees in India, we have a centre of excellence in Hyderabad and an engineering centre in Bengaluru. We continue to grow our business.
Eric Alexander, Asia-Head of Business, Uber

The company, he said, also wants to create economic opportunities in India. Talking about startups in India, Alexander said the country is a huge driver for budding entrepreneurs.
