TVS Motor Company Ltd.'s sales rose in July on the back of higher scooter sales and a surge in exports.
Overall sales grew 9 percent year-on-year to 2,71,171 units in July, it said in an exchange filing.
The company sold 2,63,336 two-wheelers in July, 9.7 percent higher than the same month last year, it said in a stock exchange filing. Three-wheeler sales, however, remained flat at 7,835 units.
Sales of scooters, one of the most profitable categories for TVS, jumped 35.8 percent to 92,378 units for the period. Motorcycles sales rose 15.1 percent to 1,09,427 units.
The company exported 50,957 units, 26.8 percent higher than July last year. This was mainly driven by a 31.4 percent jump in the two-wheeler exports to 43,940 units.
