Tata Motors Ltd.'s newest electric vehicle Tiago EV has received more than 10,000 bookings within the first day.
The response prompted the company to extend the special introductory pricing--starting from Rs 8.49 lakh (all India ex-showroom)--to an additional 10,000 customers, according to a statement on Tuesday. The bookings opened at 12 noon on Monday.
Deliveries of the Tiago EV will commence from January 2023 and customers will be able to take test drives from late December this year, the company said. The production of 24kWh-battery variants has been prioritised on customer insights to match their expectation at the time of delivery.
The Tiago EV is India's most affordable electric car, strengthening Tata Motors dominance in the EV market. Tata Motors' Tigor EV starts at ex-showroom price of Rs 12.5 lakh. It also sells two variants of of the Nexon EV--India's best selling electric car.

The Tiago EV can be booked with an upfront payment of Rs 21,000 at any authorised Tata Motors dealership or on the company's official website.
