Chips-maker Prataap Snacks Ltd.'s foray into the sweets category will improve its revenues and margins in the coming years, according to Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Amit Kumat.

“We expect Rs 300 crore from the sweet category in the next two to three years,” Kumat said in an interview to BloombergQuint.

Sweet products have higher margins than savory products, he said, adding that the company would see a 10 percent profit margin if the sweet category performs as planned.

Prataap Snacks, which is best known for its “Yellow Diamond Chips” brand, plans to launch two new products in the next few months.
