Singham Returns to Keep Grip on Box Office

Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham Returns continued its good performance at the box office. On Monday, Singham Returns pulled in net Rs 13 crore at the domestic box office, according to the initial estimates of boxofficeindia.com.

Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham Returns continued its good performance at the box office, raking in close to Rs 15 crore on Monday, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. This takes domestic collections of Singham Returns to Rs 92.47 crore net in four days, adds Mr Adarsh.

Singham Returns has also seen a strong reception at overseas box office. According to Eros, which distributed Singham Returns in the overseas markets, the action thriller grossed nearly Rs 15 crore in its first weekend.

Singham Returns, which was released on Independence Day, had hit the Rs.50 crore-mark in just two days. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Singham Returns also stars Kareena Kapoor and Amole Gupte.

Starring Ajay Devgn as a police inspector, the movie seems to be on its way to becoming a blockbuster just like its prequel Singham that was released in 2011. Singham had done business over Rs 100 crore.

Singham Returns is co-produced by Ajay Devgn Films, Rohit Shetty Productions and Reliance Entertainment. There are expectations that Singham Returns could hit the Rs 100 crore mark in five days. Kick, which is currently the biggest grosser so far in 2014, had also hit the Rs 100 crore milestone in five days. (With Agency Inputs)
