Shanti Ekambaram To Retire As Kotak Mahindra Bank Deputy Managing Director On Oct. 31

Shanti Ekambaram, in a letter to the Board, said the decision followed deep reflection and expressed gratitude for her over three-decade-long association with the Bank.

Kotak Mahindra Bank, on Saturday, announced that Shanti Ekambaram will retire from her role as Director and Deputy Managing Director of the Bank upon completion of her current term on Oct 31, 2025.

In an exchange filing it was revealed that the bank’s board of directors, at its meeting, accepted her request to retire and placed on record its appreciation for her contributions during her tenure.

Ekambaram, in a letter to the Board, said the decision followed deep reflection and expressed gratitude for her over three-decade-long association with the Bank.

She noted that it had been an extraordinary journey and a privilege to serve the institution in diverse roles.

“To have played a part in shaping an organisation that now holds a distinct and respected position in the industry is a source of immense pride and fulfilment for me,” she wrote. She also assured the Board of her commitment to ensuring a smooth transition.

The Board also approved several senior management changes during its meeting.

Paritosh Kashyap, currently Group President and Business Head – Wholesale Banking Group, has been appointed as an Additional Director and a Whole-time Director (Executive Director) and Key Managerial Personnel for a period of three years, subject to necessary regulatory approvals.

Kashyap, a Chartered Accountant and Cost & Works Accountant, has been with the bank for 28 years and has played a pivotal role in building the structured finance and real estate businesses. He has also served as Managing Director & CEO of Kotak Mahindra Investments Limited and has been part of the Key Leadership Team since Dec 2021.

Separately, Himanshu Vasa will cease to be the Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Management Personnel of the Bank at the end of the day on July 10, 2025, upon his upcoming retirement.

Anantha Raman R, currently Head of Internal Audit, has been appointed as the new Chief Compliance Officer and SMP for a three-year term starting July 11, 2025.

Additionally, Ashish Athalye, Senior Executive Vice President and Head – Audit (Assets, Trade, Treasury, Risk, Control & Support functions), will assume the role of Head of Internal Audit from the same date.
