(Bloomberg) -- A second French national was diagnosed with the coronavirus in Senegal Tuesday, a day after the nation became the second sub-Saharan country to report a case of the virus.
The patient, an 80-year-old man living in Paris, arrived in Dakar, the capital, on Feb. 29, the health ministry said in a statement.
He was quarantined at the Fann Hospital after seeking care at a private clinic.
The patient's condition is stable and authorities are working to find people have been in contact with the man, according to the statement.
Senegal earlier recorded its initial case, a French national who arrived in Dakar on Feb. 26, Health Minister Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr told reporters Monday.
Nigeria reported sub-Saharan Africa's first confirmed case of coronavirus on Feb. 28, after an Italian citizen tested positive.
