The NFT marketplace has exploded with the rise of blockchain technology, and many people are jumping into the rapidly evolving industry to cash in on its popularity. Even Bollywood is warming up to the idea. After Amitabh Bachchan and Sunny Leone, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has announced that he will launch his own non-fungible tokens (NFTs). In a Twitter post on Wednesday, Salman Khan said he is coming out with static NFTs soon and asked his followers to “stay tuned” for more updates.
An NFT is a cryptographically secure token existing on the blockchain, the same technology on which the cryptocurrency industry is based. Essentially blockchain-certified copies of digital art, NFTs represent ownership of something unique.
These collectible items are sold for massive price tags during online auctions. The tokens are fairly popular in the art world but they go far beyond that. Collectible trading cards and the gaming industry are two other big beneficiaries of these tokens.
Announcing the launch of his NFTs, Salman also shared a few images of himself with the message, “NFTs coming soon”.

Bollycoin describes itself as a “decentralised community owned marketplace for Bollywood NFT assets”. It says it will auction digital collectibles from the film industry on its platform and allow Bollywood enthusiasts from around the world to own NFTs of their favourite films and celebrities.Recently, Amitabh Bachchan launched his NFT artworks themed around his life. The NFTs also included his recital of Madhushala, a collection of poems by his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The megastar has decided to launch his NFT collection on BeyondLife.club platform. Similarly, Sunny Leone has already launched her NFT collection.
