Mary Kom Sets High Expectations at Box Office
Priyanka Chopra-starrer 'Mary Kom' hit the screens on Friday and its release has come at a time when the Bollywood is having a good year.
'Mary Kom' has already been granted exemption from entertainment tax by a few state governments.
Based on the life of Olympic champion Mary Kom, the film traces her story to success. Directed by Omung Kumar, the release of 'Mary Kom' comes at a time when the Bollywood has had a good year so far in 2014.
Kick has grossed over Rs 200 crore at domestic box office while Singham Returns has made business of over Rs 130 crore. Other releases of this year such as Ek Villain, Holiday, 2 States and Jai Ho also grossed over 100 crore at the box office.
Also starring Darshan Kumar, Zachary Coffin, Robin Das and Shakti Singh, 'Mary Kom' will also benefit from no major releases this week. (With Agency Inputs)
