(Bloomberg) -- A gunman in Texas killed 26 people at a Sunday church service just weeks after a mass shooting at a Las Vegas concert claimed 58 lives, according to reports.

The following is a list of major mass shootings with 12 or more fatalities (excluding assailants):

Oct. 1, 2017 - Las Vegas, Nevada

  • 58 dead at country music festival; more than 515 injured
    • Stephen Paddock opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

    June 12, 2016 - Orlando, Florida

    • 49 dead at night club; about 58 injured
      • Omar Mateen, inspired by extremist propaganda, attacked Pulse Nightclub, a popular venue with the gay community.

      April 16, 2007 - Blacksburg, Virginia

      • 32 dead at Virginia Tech, 23 injured
        • Student Seung-Hui Cho committed slayings at dormitory and Norris Hall.

        Dec. 14, 2012 - Newtown, Connecticut

        • 26 dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School; 2 injured
          • Adam Lanza stormed building killing staff and children. Lanza also killed his mother at home.

          Nov. 5, 2017 - Sutherland Springs, Texas

          • 26 reported dead at First Baptist Church 
            • Gunman opened fire during Sunday services with children among casualties; assailant reported dead after fleeing scene

            Oct. 16, 1991 - Killeen, Texas

            • 23 dead at Luby's Cafeteria; 27 injured
              • George Hennard crashed truck through plate glass window and opened fire.

              July 18, 1984 - San Ysidro, California

              • 21 dead at McDonald's restaurant; 19 injured
                • James Huberty was armed with multiple weapons and rounds of ammunition.

                Aug. 1, 1966 - Austin, Texas

                • 15 dead at University of Texas, including unborn child; 31 injured
                  • Charles Whitman opened fire from observation deck of the school's 27-story clock tower. Whitman killed his wife and mother before entering the structure.

                  Dec. 2, 2015 - San Bernadino, California

                  • 14 dead at Inland Regional Center; 24 injured

                    Sept. 16, 1949 - Camden, New Jersey

                    • 13 dead in Cramer Hill section; 3 injured
                      • Howard Unruh, a World War II veteran, walked through his neighborhood killing men, women and children.

                      Aug. 20, 1986 - Edmond, Oklahoma

                      • 14 dead at post office; 6 injured

                        April 20, 1999 - Littleton, Colorado

                        • 13 dead at Columbine High School; 24 injured
                          • Students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold stormed school carrying guns and bombs.

                          Nov. 5, 2009 - Fort Hood, Texas

                          • 13 dead at Army base; 33 injured
                            • Major Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, opened fire on soldiers at a processing center.

                            April 3, 2009 - Binghamton, New York

                            • 13 dead at American Civic Association; 4 injured
                              • Jiverly Wong targeted immigrant center where he had been learning English.

                              Sept. 25, 1982 - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania

                              • 13 dead, 1 injured

                                Feb. 18, 1983 - Seattle

                                • 13 dead in Chinatown; 1 injured
                                  • Three gunmen robbed Wah Mee gambling club, hogtied victims.

                                  July 20, 2012 - Aurora, Colorado

                                  • 12 dead at Century 16 theater; about 70 injured
                                    • James Holmes, armed with firearms and tear gas canisters, attacked show of new Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises.”

                                    Sept. 16, 2013 - Washington, D.C. 

                                    • 12 dead at Washington Navy Yard; 8 injured
                                      • Gunman Aaron Alexis entered the restricted facility with a valid identification card.
