Pharma major Lupin Ltd. received final approval from U.S. drug regulator for Bupropion Hydrochloride tablets used for the treatment of major depressive disorder, the company said in a filing to exchanges.
The company's drug is the generic version of Valeant Pharmaceuticals North America LLC's Wellbutrin tablets. The drug is used for the treatment of major depressive disorder and prevention of seasonal affective order in adults, the filing said.
Wellbutrin tablets have sales of $755 million in the U.S. market, according to IMS MAT December 2016 data.
